Mark Hendriksen

After various other entrepreneurial activities, Mark joined the tourism industry in 1996, and then founded his own travel publishing company and quickly built up a successful portfolio of travel magazines and visitor guides which were subsequently sold to Morris Communication Company LLC (MCC) Augusta, GA, USA in May 2002. Mark became the CEO and Publisher at Morris UK, the MCC European base from where; IN London, The London Guide and Best of Britain by Rail are now their core publications.

Over the past eight years Mark has supported and promoted UK tourism both domestically and internationally, and has worked closely at all levels of the industry where, ‘we worked to capitalize on the needs of the future and looked a little bit differently on how we were approaching travellers and making information useful for them’. Mark has been pivotal in bringing together MCC’s travel media and publishing divisions to a wider audience.

MCC travel-related business’ include the above UK titles, plus; Cadogan Guides and Globe Pequot Press (book publishers and distributors), Best Read Guides (USA), selected Where franchises across the US, IN New York, Quick Guides, Guest Informant and Riviera Radio (Monaco).

Mark is now an adviser in "intelligent business growth" and active contributor to The Tourism Network's newsletter, website and events programme.
